The Home Quality Mark (HQM) scheme was released in Beta form in early 2016.The intent behind releasing the scheme as a Beta version was to gain feedback from stakeholders on its criteria and performance benchmarks before the scheme is finalised.
We have received wide ranging and valuable feedback from stakeholders and early adopters on the scheme’s technical criteria, tools, scoring and processes. Our thanks to them – this feedback has been very useful and will form the basis of the next steps in the scheme’s development.
We are now in the midst of planning an update, which also provides an opportunity to develop a guidance manual for the use of the scheme in Scotland and Wales.
The launch date for the next version is expected to be in late 2017, depending on the feedback that we continue to receive.
We will shortly be releasing a consultation version of the manual summarising the changes. If you wish to comment before the consultation version is released, please contact us via HQM@bre.co.uk
To carry out Home Quality Mark Assessments, when the scheme becomes live, you will need to undertake training and obtain a licence.Read more
